Hyundai Supplier

Selma is getting an economic boost, a leading Hyundai parts supplier, the Lear Corporation, is locating several automotive suppliers in the Dallas County city.

The announcement comes from Selma Mayor James Perkins, who withheld additional details about the exact number of companies, the number of jobs created and other financial details. However, an article in Friday's Montgomery Advertiser said between 100 to 400 jobs will be created.

Perkins also said the city is completing plans to begin construction for the suppliers. It's unclear when the companies would start operations.

Lear Corporation, ranked as the 16th fastest growing company in the U.S., will locate the plant in the Craig Industrial Park on U.S. 80 in Selma.
