Some local elementary school children have stepped up to help the Wiregrass Honor Flight.
Tuesday at Ashford Elementary school, students presented a check for $4,025, all of which they raised themselves.
That's enough money to send 4 veterans to Washington D.C.
86-year-old World War II veteran Jackson Granberry was there along with Honor Flight organizers to accept the award.
"I'm glad that they were able to come. I keep thinking every night how it’s good to have freedom and what they do for us and how many men that have died to save us," said Colby Windham 2nd Grade, Ashford Elementary
The next Honor Flight will be September 19th.
