Courthouse Security

A private company could soon be handling security at the entrance to the Houston County Courthouse.

The county is taking bids from private security firms interested in the job, which is currently being handled by Houston County Sheriff's Deputies.

The move could save the county $30,000 or $40,000 a year.

If approved, employees with a private security firm could be manning the courthouse entrance by Oct. 1.
