Some Houston County deputies helped break up an illegal drug lab when they smelled something strange Tuesday night.
Twenty-six-year-old Michael Barfield and 19-year-old Jennifer Giles are charged with possession, manufacturing and trafficking in methamphetamine.
When deputies responded to a disturbance at the couple's home off Hodgesville Road, officers thought they detected the strong odor of a meth lab.
A hazardous materials team was called in along with narcotics officers.
A search of the home turned up about $10,000 worth of meth and chemicals used to make the drug.
Barfield and Giles were booked into the Houston County Jail under bonds totaling more than $100,000 each.
