Hurricane Ignacio

Hurricane Ignacio is now bringing even stronger rain, and its pace is slowing, as it moves along the coast of Baja California.

Authorities are struggling to force reluctant evacuees to higher, safer ground. Even with winds topping 90 miles-per-hour, many residents are skeptical of storm warnings and prefer to wait it out. Authorities say the army will be called to take people from their homes if they refuse to leave.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami says rainfall of up to 25 inches could cause life-threatening flash flooding and mud slides.
