An Ozark woman is now awaiting trail, after beating and kicking a teacher at Carroll High School.

Fifty-two-year-old Jacqueline Martin allegedly assaulted the teacher Monday afternoon in the school parking lot.

Police say the teacher was attacked from behind around 3:45PM, as she was getting off a school bus that was returning from a field trip.

Officials say the motive is still unclear, but it did have something to do with the suspect's daughter.

"We're not going to tolerate this kind of behavior. We want this person prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and we're going to do whatever it takes to ensure our students and our teachers are safe," says Ozark City Schools Superintendent, Dr. Dan Payant.

Martin faces a felony charge and if convicted, could serve one to 10-years in prison.

She was released on a $1000 dollar bond from the Dale County Jail.
