The building may be torn down, but the question over what to do with the land where Carver High School once stood continues.
When you look at the corner of Tuskeege and Lake Street, it looks empty. But, several people living near the site have some ideas.
For Brian Barritt, a local barber in the area, the land should be to benefit the children of today. One of Carver's last students, Jacqueline Pride feels the same way.
But others agree with the Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity's proposal to build a new subdivision on the site.
However, one city leader says all options need to be considered first.
The Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity will present plans to city commissioners on Nov. 18. The new subdivision would have 16 homes located on the site of the old Carver High School in Dothan.
