A decision has been made on the controversial sale of a Panhandle hospital.
Late last night, Washington County Commissioners voted 3-2 to lease the hospital to Northwest Florida Health Care.
Commissioners spent several hours interviewing representatives from three companies interested in buying the hospital.
Resurgence of Georgia, Blackhawk which is based in Austin, Texas and Northwest Florida Health Care were all interested in leasing and possibly buying the 50-year-old hospital in Chipley.
Northwest Florida Health Care is headed by the current CEO of the hospital.
