The U.S. Postal Service is asking residents in Ponce de Leon and Western Holmes County to take extra precaution after two mail boxes exploded.
Johnny Doss said an explosive device tore his mailbox apart about a week ago.
He says he's thankful his children and grandchildren were not near at the time:
Federal and local authorities describe the explosive device as an acid bomb.
It consists of lye and other household chemicals in a two-liter soda bottle.
If you can help authorities on the mail box bombings, contact the Holmes County Sheriff's Department at 850-547-3681.
