If you use Verizon for your local phone calls, you'll see a different name on your bill later this month.
A company called Century-Tel is expected to take over 90 local telephone exchanges in Alabama.
Century-Tel is paying more than $2 billion for the buy-out. About 430 Verizon employees will transfer to the new company.
Alabama customers should see no change in area codes, telephone numbers of local calling areas as a result of the sale. All current Verizon telephone accounts will automatically transfer to Century-Tel.
Representatives from the company will talk more about the change over at the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce.
