Updated: Fri 1:21 PM, Oct 31, 2003

Dothan City School Superintendent Leon Hobbs has interviewed for a new job.

Hobbs was the third of four finalists for the top position in the Jefferson County School System.

Many of the questions focused on school finance.

Budget cuts have Jefferson County facing the possibility of eliminating 228 teaching positions in the upcoming fiscal year.

Hobbs described measures he had implemented in the past to increase revenue like cutting expenditures.

Hobbs' work experience includes two years as teacher, nine as principal and two as deputy superintendent.

A decision will be announced next Wednesday.
