White Buffalo

White Buffalo

A rare albino bison is reported in North Dakota.

The bull calf was found May 5 on the Big Sky Buffalo Ranch near Granville. Owner Duane Woodall waited to announce it, because he wanted to make sure it would survive.

Woodall's granddaughter says the calf is sensitive to sunlight, but is otherwise doing well.

He's been named "Mystical," because it was misty and raining when he was found. The family plans to keep him.

Another rare albino was born eight years ago on a ranch near Michigan, North Dakota. The female named White Cloud is now at the National Buffalo Museum in Jamestown.
