Bullard Takes Job in Florida

Matt Bullard Good

Dothan City Commissioner Matt Bullard has a new job in Florida after retiring from the Dothan City School System.

The District Six Commissioner is the new assistant principal at Wewahitchka High School.

Wewahitchka is about 30 miles East of Panama City.

Bullard told News 4 the school has about 300 students. He says he found out about the job from a friend and the opportunity to draw his retirement plus a full-time salary was just too good to pass up.

He also says he'll be eligible to retire in Florida in just six years.

Bullard was defeated in last month's Dothan city election.

He says he intends to fulfill his duties as commissioner until his current term expires in October.

Bullard says he and his wife Linda, who still works in Dothan have no plans to relocate at this time.
