Russell Corporation has lost out on a bid to continue making uniforms for Major League Baseball teams.
The company's current contract, which allows it to provide uniforms for 15 teams, runs through 2004.
The league says it has chosen Pennsylvania-based Majestic Athletic to be its new uniform supplier after the 2004 season.
A spokeswoman for Alabama-based Russell tells The Birmingham News that sales of apparel with MLB logos account for only one percent of company revenues.
