An Internet chat room reportedly led to the abduction of a Northwest Florida teen-ager.
The 17-year-old girl is now safe and the suspect is behind bars following this weekend's arrest in Dothan.
Authorities say the girl used a computer at the Sam Mitchell Library in Vernon to go into an Internet chat room. That is where she reportedly met Online Franclin Jean.
On Saturday night, police say the teenager met and left with the 30-year-old Decatur, Georgia man. She was found with the suspect following a minor traffic accident in Dothan.
Librarian Dorothy Williams says policy dictates that teenagers must have written permission from their parents before going on the Internet.
Longtime Washington County Sheriff Fred Peel says the Internet may be great, but it's being used by those who prey upon children.
Jean waived extradition and is now being held at the Washington County Jail.
At this time, he's charged with interference with custody and additional charges are expected. He is expected to make his first appearance in court today.
