Hospital Sale

A judge has dismissed a second challenge to the $1 sale of Northwest Florida Community Hospital to Pensacola-based Sacred Heart Health Systems.

The sale includes the county spend more than $3 million to upgrade the hospital.

Opponents alleged the sale would waste taxpayer money, but the judge ruled that's not enough to give them standing to sue.

Opponents say another bidder, Georgia-based Resurgence Health Group, offered $4 million for the hospital and to pay for the upgrades itself.
