A Panama City Beach woman is charged with trying to hire a friend to kill a Bay County sheriff's deputy. The friend was an FBI informant who contacted authorities.
44-year-old Morgan Lee Michaels was arrested and faces a series of charges, including solicitation for murder of a law enforcement officer.
Michaels had claimed Deputy Luther Burnam had raped her after a prior arrest. The charges were dismissed.
Officials say Michaels also wanted a second man killed. She's being held without bond.
