Railroad Crossings

Updated: Tue 9:42 AM, Jul 29, 2003

The condition of Dothan's many railroad crossings continues to be a problem in the city.

Out of the 18 railroad crossings listed in poor condition by a city report, only four have been fully repaired.

Only one company, Bay Line Railroad, has repaired both of its crossings listed in poor condition.

While the wet weather and other projects have forced some delays in repairs, City Traffic Engineer Charles Metzger says the railroad companies progress has been too slow.

All three companies had originally planned to repair their damaged crossings within 60 days after the city's report.
