Korean War Ceremony

Gov. Bob Riley honors 130,000 Alabamians who served in the conflict, its estimated that 60,000-70,000 are still living.

Riley hosted a special wreath-laying ceremony at a Korean War Armistice Day Commemoration at the state Capitol.

Memorial services were held over the weekend at Arlington National Cemetery and at the Korean War Veterans Memorial.

The Korean War began in June 1950 and ended in July 1953.
