Boating Fatalities

A mother and child died this weekend in Fort Walton Beach from injuries sustained in a boating accident.

The collision happened Friday night when a motorboat rammed into a pontoon boat.

Forty-two-year-old Tina Glasscock of Auburn was pronounced dead on the shore after part of the pontoon's canopy collapsed on her following Friday's accident.

Her daughter, two-year-old Gracelyn Glasscock, briefly revived and airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

She later died, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Both vessels have been seized and officials were investigating how the collision occurred. No charges had been filed pending the investigation.
