The bodies of two Alabama soldiers, one from Elba and the other from Phenix City, will be returned to their families from Iraq for separate funerals Sunday and Monday.
The body of 24-year-old Army Sgt. Jason Jordan is expected to be shipped today from Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to Elba. Jordan, Alabama's tenth casualty in Iraq, died last Sunday when his infantry patrol was ambushed in a rocket-propelled grenade attack in a village in Tallifar.
Jordan's funeral is Sunday at 2 p.m. at Victoria Baptist Church in Victoria. His survivors include parents William and Sandra Jordan of Elba, a brother, Christopher Jordan; and grandparents.
The remains of 29-year-old Army Sergeant First Class Christopher Willoughby of Phenix City will be returned to his hometown Saturday afternoon. Willoughby also died July 20 when the vehicle he was riding in overturned in Baghdad.
Willoughby's funeral is Monday at 11 a.m. at Wynnbrook Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia. His survivors include parents Robert Willoughby of Greenville, South Carolina, and JoAnn Hudson of Grants Pass, Oregon; his wife, Jeannine Willoughby and two sons, nine-year-old son Blake and 16-month-old Collin; and a sister, Sandy Willoughby, also in Grants Pass.
