Some Wiregrass children got a helping hand from the federal government this weekend.
Senator Jeff Sessions stopped in at the Boys and Girls Club in Dothan with checks totaling $6,500.
The grant money will help the agency get started in Geneva County and allow the Dothan club to serve more children. The funding is part of more than $90 million in government money earmarked for Boys and Girls Clubs nationwide.
To show their thanks, the Boys and Girls Club made Senator Sessions a lifetime member of the club.
