Ft. Gaines, GA – A joint investigation conducted by the Ft. Gaines Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Sylvester Field Office has resulted in the arrest of four people who are charged with the murder of Marcus Ellington.
Felony Murder and Armed Robbery arrest warrants have been obtained for Eddie Blackshear, 21, Brittani Baxter, 21, Shundell Wright, 24, and Tenikqua Woodard, 19. Blackshear, Baxter, and Wright have Ft. Gaines addresses; however, Tenikqua Woodard has a Eufaula, Alabama address.
Ft. Gaines Police Chief Sam Starling requested assistance from the GBI on Thursday, May 29, 2014, after a caller made a report to Clay County 911 about a deceased black male found in the road on Lilly Lane, Ft. Gaines. The deceased was identified as Marcus Ellington, 29, of Morris, GA. Ellington died as a result of a gunshot wound.
