Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that gutted a Dothan grocery store this past weekend.
Dothan Fire Marshall Ed Munn says investigators hope to make a final determination on the cause of the fire sometime Tuesday.
The U-Sav Grocery on Columbia Highway erupted in flames around 5 o'clock Saturday afternoon while customers were still inside shopping.
Everyone got out safely, but it took several hours to bring the fire under control. The damage is estimated at about $1 million.
Investigators say the fire apparently started near the freezer aisle. That's where a customer first noticed smoke.
