These financial rewards range from $5,000 to more than $23,000. Usually schools have an annual fixed budget, so receiving extra dollars like this can really go a long way in making changes.
Schools are looking at possibilities like fixing up playgrounds and purchasing rewards for students to encourage them to continue excelling in the classroom.
A total of 313 schools around the state will receive nearly $3 million for making significant improvements in student achievement.
