A change in how teachers find time to prepare for their classes has many Houston County teachers upset.
The Houston County School Board approved Superintendent Kenneth Lord's recommendation to modify the current four block schedule to three-and-a-half blocks.
Under this plan, middle school and high school teachers would have to spend their 49-minute planning period working with students instead of grading papers and preparing for the next day.
While school board members say they have no choice with the current funding crisis, many teachers say the board's decision will ultimately affect their students.
Superintendent Lord says that the board's decision could change if more money is found in September, which would allow teachers to have the time back for planning.
