Houston County Paving

Houston County roads have been recognized as the best in Alabama for two years in a row and county engineer Mark Pool wants to keep them that way.

County commissioners will vote Monday on another big round of resurfacing projects. 42-miles of road are on the list.

The work will cost about $2.6 million and should be completed by the end of the next fiscal year.

Some of the roads run in-and-out of Dothan city limits, so federal, state and local money will pay for the projects.

Work on the first round of resurfacing projects should begin around the end of next month.
