Senator Joe Lieberman is calling for a "full and thorough investigation" into how questionable intelligence about Iraq's nuclear program ended up in the president's State of the Union address.

The Democratic presidential hopeful says the independent commission investigating the September eleventh attacks should look at that matter, as well as the quality of the nation's intelligence as a whole.

Lieberman says intelligence information shouldn't be handled loosely. He says Americans should be told what the administration knew about the uranium intelligence reports and when they knew the reports were weak.

The Bush administration has come under fire for including a now-discredited allegation that Iraq was seeking to buy nuclear material from Africa in Bush's January speech.
