A Chipley man has admitted to accidentally running his pickup truck into a Northwest Florida church.

Around 4 o'clock Saturday morning, a truck slammed through the doors of the daycare at Wausau Assembly of God Church.

The truck and it's driver were both gone when deputies arrived.

Rev. Mark Elliott along with parishioners placed plastic over the damage.

Monday, authorities say Roy Edward Jones admitted to the accident. The 52-year-old says he blacked out and when he regained his senses, he discovered that he was in the church.

Damage to the church is estimated at around $10,000. Charges are pending in the case.
