Dale County is getting more than $270,000 to help fight the use and distribution of illegal drugs.
The money will allow Dale County's Drug Task Force to purchase intelligence gathering equipment.
In addition, the money will fund a drug awareness and education campaign that focuses on the consequences of drug abuse and how drugs are manufactured and obtained.
The goal is to decrease crime 10-percent by reducing drug trafficking.
Authorities say the sale and use of methamphetamine, marijuana and crack are growing problems and lead to an increase in violent crimes.
Last year, agents seized 18,000 grams of meth and right now the unit is investigating several drug related murders.
