Labor Day Weekend Fatal Accidents

Alabama State Troopers say the Labor Day weekend was just as deadly as last year's on state highways.

The Department of Public Safety reports at least nine deaths on rural roads for the 78 hour holiday travel period.

Traffic fatalities were reported in Pike, Randolph, Dekalb, Cullman, Jackson, Blount, Walker and Shelby Counties.

Troopers had estimated that 13 people would die in traffic accidents in the state over the Labor Day weekend.
