A Russell County Sheriff's Deputy has been arrested in Dothan for a cyber-sex crime involving a juvenile.
The Russell County Sheriff's Department is headquartered in Phenix City, about 90 miles Northeast of Dothan on the Georgia line.
Sheriff Lamar Glover praised the parents of a 15-year-old Houston County girl who kept track of her activities on their computer, and contacted authorities when they became suspicious.
Forty-nine-year-old Joseph Bundrick was arrested at a Dothan restaurant after he thought he had set up a meeting with the young victim.
The suspect is a 25-year veteran of law enforcement who spent time with the Atlanta Police Department and the Atlanta Juvenile Justice System.
Glover said some of the e-mails and messages intercepted by investigators were graphic in nature and left no doubt of Bundrick's intentions.
Prosecutors said the suspect is a threat to himself now because he was recently divorced and since his arrest he's been fired from his job as a deputy. He's also been evicted from his apartment.
Bundrick's bond has been set at $250,000. If convicted, he could get up to 20 years behind bars.
