It has taken seven-years and nearly $15-million, and now, work is nearly complete on the Coffee County water system.
The Coffee County Commission awarded certificates to Water Authority Chairman, Charles Lott, and its board of directors.
There are nearly 15,000 people in Coffee County who are hooked into the centralized water system.
Supporters say it provides safe drinking water, something that's not always a guarantee with a private well.
"We’ve been working toward this. A lot of work and help from a great many people and the county commission and we certainly do appreciate it," said Lott.
Besides Coffee, Geneva County also recently completed its centralized water system.
