Hartford Burglaries

arrest

One area police department has been busy over the last few weeks with a rash of burglaries of homes and businesses. But, after working on a tip, Hartford Police say they may have a suspect in custody.

Last week, a burglar broke into a beauty supply shop in Hartford, taking cash and nearly $500 worth of jewelry.

Police say the suspect is 20-year-old Robert Dozier. Shortly after his arrest, the Dothan man has reportedly confessed to a series of business and residential break-ins.

Hartford Police Chief Greg Adams says Dozier was a prime suspect all along.

Dozier is behind bars at the Geneva County Jail on nine felony charges. They include theft of property and burglary charges.

The suspect has reportedly pawned many of the stolen items at Dothan area businesses. Chief Adams says many of the stolen items have since been recovered.

Dozier is expected to make his first appearance today in a Geneva County courtroom.
