Floridians Begin Early Voting

The Florida primary will be held in two weeks on September 5th. On Monday however, voting got underway in each of the state's 67-counties.

Walton County recently bought new touch screen voting machines.

Supervisor of elections, Bobby Beasley says the new equipment will reduce the possibility of "over voting" and also fulfill requirements stipulated by the American Disabilities Act.

From now through Saturday September 2nd, registered voters have the opportunity to vote early.

In Walton County voting will take place at the Supervisor of Elections Office in DeFuniak Springs or the Satellite Branch Office in Santa Rosa Beach.

Early voting takes place from 8:30AM until 4:30PM in Walton County.

On the day of the actual primary, voters must cast their ballot in their assigned precinct.
