Rehobeth School Trailers

After years of making do with portable classrooms, Rehobeth School is putting their trailers out to pasture.

While former Gov. Don Siegelman was mandating removal of all portable classrooms, Rehobeth School was getting new ones.

That's just how bad the overcrowding situation was.

Rehobeth's campus currently houses 2,000 students from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

But a new facility about a quarter of a mile down the road will open in July for 9th through 12th grades.

School officials say that will take the strain off the existing campus and will remove what many call an "eyesore."

Rehobeth School Principal Dr. Roy Watford says the school won't get rid of all the portable classrooms. He says Rehobeth is still growing and they may need them again in the near future.
