Cotton Gin Embezzlement Update

Sixty-four-year-old Grace White pled guilty in February to 27 counts of theft of property.

She was accused of stealing more than $400,000 from the Wiregrass Gin Company where she worked.

Judge Larry Anderson sentenced White to 20 years in prison and she started serving her time in April.

But, the victims of the embezzlement scheme found out this week that the state prison system already wants to put White in a work release program.

District Attorney Doug Valeska says he intends to do all he can to keep White behind bars as long as possible.

The owners of the cotton gin say they'll do their part, including writing letters to Gov. Bob Riley.
