It's been a hot topic for years, whether or not to rewrite Alabama's Constitution.
Tuesday night, local residents debated the merits of changing the state's century old constitution.
A public forum held at George Wallace Community College offered Wiregrass residents an opportunity to debate whether or not Alabama should hold a constitutional convention.
Those attending say while Alabama's Constitution does have many problems, they are afraid a new constitution would be influenced by special interest groups.
The Alabama Constitution Deliberative Discussion Project sponsored the forum. One of many being held in the state.
Feedback from the discussion will be sent to Gov. Bob Riley's commission on the state constitution.
