Slocomb Adult Daycare

Local officials and church parishioners in Slocomb are looking to expand community outreach services by taking over an abandoned building.

Two months ago due to a financial shortfall, the Geneva County adult daycare facility closed its doors.

Mayor Vicki Moore and members of County Line Missionary Baptist Church would like to see the building turned into a community center, allowing a host of social services to be offered.

Geneva County currently owns the building and property.

The board of commissioners said they'll explore the possibility of selling, or leasing the facility to the church.
