Buckle Up Alabama

Be sure to buckle up! Alabama State Troopers, along with county and city law enforcement agencies are targeting seat belt enforcement until June 1.

The agencies are participating in the third annual Click It or Ticket campaign.

The goal is to increase seat belt use among Alabama drivers and passengers from 79 to 85-percent.

A survey conducted by the National Highway Administration finds 75-percent of all Americans use their seat belts while driving.

In Alabama, there's a $25 fine if a driver or passenger fails to wear a seat belt.

If children aren't properly restrained, the fine is $10.
