Stuart, Florida (AP) — A toddler that had been left in a truck for several hours was found dead Thursday.
Stuart Police said Nellier Lima was unloading packages in the back of her truck, when she found her 21-month-old son unresponsive in his car seat.
The boy, who has not been identified, had been in the car all day while Lima was working and running errands. Temperatures in the area reached 91 degrees. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lima, of Golden Gate, told police she had dropped her 6-year-old daughter off at school earlier in the morning and forgot to take her son to daycare.
She discovered the child around 4 p-m. Investigators were still interviewing Lima tonight and no charges had been filed, although authorities said charges were possible.
