A Geneva County man faces several charges related to operating an illegal business in Hartford. Both state and local authorities are very familiar with the suspect Donald Lashley.

Five years ago, in an exclusive News 4 jail house interview, Lashley apologized to the people of Geneva County. A jury convicted him on multiple counts of "theft by deception.”

He defrauded businesses and individuals in several schemes of more than $70,000.

Lasley would serve five years of a 20-year sentence before being released on probation.

At this time, Lashley faces possession of prohibition beverages in a "dry" county and illegally manufactured alcohol.

The 34-year-old is behind bars at the Geneva County Jail awaiting first appearance.
