School Hazing

Illinois school officials have voted unanimously to expel the 31 seniors involved in the violent hazing incident earlier this month.

Those students will no longer be allowed on school grounds or at school activities.

The board deliberated over the decision for nine hours Sunday. And the decision finally came Monday morning.

Seniors will be issued diplomas provided they meet board requirements.

Their grades will be frozen at the previous level and they are barred for all graduation activities.

About two dozen juniors were suspended last week.

The hazing took place May 4 at a powder puff football game.

Senior girls pushed, punched, hit and smeared paint and excrement on the junior girls.

One girl received stitches to her head and another suffered a broken ankle.
