Dothan City Schools assembled Tuesday for their annual teacher institute to get faculty and staff back into the school routine.
Mamie McCullough was guest speaker for the rally.
McCullough has been a motivational speaker for more than 25 years, and this is the second straight year Dothan has had her come to get teachers ready for the upcoming school year.
“We’re moving in the right direction. We're excited about the kids coming to school this week. We're just trying to have a good beginning to the school year,” said Sam Nichols, Dothan City Schools Superintendent.
Also at the rally, almost $24,000 worth of grant money from area businesses was given among the schools.
