Record Rain

The rains just keeps coming down with no letup in sight.

Alabama's rivers, streams and creeks are again spilling their banks prompting the National Weather Service to issue another round of flash flood warnings and watches in dozens of Alabama counties.

Forecasters in Birmingham say the city keeps setting new records for May 1-21, Alabama's largest city has recorded an eye-opening 17.22 inches of rain.

That breaks the old mark of 11.10 inches set in 1969. It’s also the third-wettest month of all time, at least so far.

Birmingham's all-time record of more than 20 inches was set in July 1916.
