Complaints by businesses and residents in downtown Dothan have prompted the police department to close part of Foster Street to vehicle traffic Friday night as an experiment.
Starting at 6 p.m. Friday, only pedestrians will be allowed on the 100 block of North Foster Street. The closure will last until 6 a.m. Saturday.
Some people living in the area complained to the city about loud cars and music on the streets along with trash problems and bad behavior.
The police department is trying the experiment to see if it cuts down on the problems.
