Police say the man beat his grandparents in the head. He is charged with attempted murder along with a recent robbery
Ozark police said they are happy they caught this man before something worse happened.
Twenty-two-year-old Jeremy Wayne Miller is now behind bars. Ozark police started to track Miller after responding to a 911 call from a house on Highway 27.
There a 72-year-old male and his 62-year-old wife were attacked by their grandson around 8:30 Tuesday night.
"Thus far in our investigations with our victims, no motive has been established. There is speculation that robbery was a motive."
But Miller didn't stop there. Police say he also robbed a gas station, carrying a knife and demanding money.
"It was really scary. He was showing us a knife and telling us that he had a gun, too. If we touch anything, me or my mom, he was going to shoot us. She was crying in front of him, but he felt nothing."
Miller walked out carrying the cash register filled with $800 to $900. Ozark police, with help of Dale County sheriff's deputies, arrested Miller around 1 p.m. He is charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of first degree robbery.
No bond has been set for Miller. Police say the victims of the attempted murder are now in good condition.
Police say Miller was found near the Budget Inn in Ozark.
