Wiregrass United Way Kicks off Pacesetter Campaign

The Wiregrass United Way kicked-off its pacesetter campaign with more businesses participating than ever before.

So far, 92- area companies have committed to fundraising... And more are expected to sign up this week.

WTVY News 4 is participating by encouraging employees to donate to the organization throughout the month of august.

The Wiregrass United Way serves 37-agencies in Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Houston and Henry Counties.

"We have four focus areas: helping youth succeed, meeting basic needs, serving people with basic needs and strengthening families and individuals. United Way serves a wide range of programs...from disaster relief to after-school programs," said Walter Hill of Wiregrass United Way CEO.

Last year, the pace-setter companies and their employees contributed more than $800,000 to the Wiregrass United Way.
