Distinguished Citizens

blue ribbon... like you win at the fair

It has been a little more than a month since an Enterprise woman was badly burned in a lawn mower accident.

Summer Barber is alive because of the heroic actions of two passing motorists.

Enterprise Mayor Tim Alford presents Distinguished Citizen awards to school bus driver Leonard Bradley and army flight student Second Lt. Kilma Lattin.

Last month, both men were driving by when they saw a woman engulfed in flames outside a Shell Field Road home.

The lawn mower Summer was riding caught on fire and spread to her nylon jacket. Second Lt. Kilma was in route to Fort Rucker when he came across the horrible site.

Summer credits the two men for saving her life.

At first, doctors feared that Summer's severely burned arms might have to be amputated.

She is now regaining circulation and strength in them.
