Fatal Accident

A Geneva County woman was killed in a car accident Tuesday and a Georgia man is behind bars in connection with her death.

It happened at the intersection of Highway 431 and State Road 10 in Abbeville.

Fifty-seven-year-old Martha Mitchell of Slocomb was stopped at a red light when she was rear ended by a 1999 Chevy Corvette that was travelling at a high rate of speed.

Ms. Mitchell was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Her four-year-old grandson was also in the car. He was not hurt.

The driver of the corvette, 47-year-old David Justice of Dahlonega, Georgia was booked in the Henry County Jail.

Justice is charged with vehicular homicide. His bond has been set at $10,000.
